“This, Rebellion” by Tyler Fitzpatrick
I’ve been building this castle for way too long
There’s just no time to live
Shadows linger on the floor with light from a gun
You’ve given up and I’ve nowhere to look
If I were only blind, I could see the sun
Just far from your shade
But its time to throw my hat and bury the past
I’ll start now and you start over
I’ll forget all about what would never last
Bury me, bury all of it then I’ll get away
I’ll never find this
If only I could stop this endless search
But dahlin’ fear is what I can’t miss
And love is what you’ve never needed
It’s all built up to accrue
Years of loud silence in my head
That time bomb is way past due
Get a good seat and watch me spread
But walk backwards through it this time
But don’t trip on the crescendo
You call it mine and I say you
No other time than the minute now
