“Lonely Doll” by Georgette Walker

Swept away by looming images of a lonely face.
She was a one-of-a-kind woman, no one could ever replace.
Existing pain of a slowly beating heart.
Photographed like a work of art.
She was very complex and rather observant
Others tried not to pass too much judgment.

Beautiful girl in a isolated place.
Dare Wright, painted with such a complicated face.
Delicate flower underneath a huge stone.
Once the stone was lifted, she became more lost
than ever before.

Although many found the door, no one ever found the key.
Make believe she is, set apart from many.
Carefully sought after and loved, but her mother constantly
held a grudge.
Those who tried to get close were rejected.
They weren’t compatible with her fairytale existence.
No companion to grow old with, but that was fine with her.
Some asked questions, though no one ever had a plausible answer.
