“Blanket of Snow” by Ana Richters

The snow falls soft and thick.
It covers up the cinder bricks.
It wraps its warmth around the trees,
And blankets the frozen land with ease.
Everything underneath it sleeps;
A peaceful rest, both quiet and deep.
I close my eyes and stand still
In my spot atop the dreaming hill,
Secretly wishing that I too could go
And be covered by the snow.
