This week, Too Shy to Stop welcomed a new columnist: Erin Goldberger.  Though Erin has written articles for TStS before, she is now going to write a weekly digest of interesting things on the Interweb.  Not Too Shy to Share is a collection of remarkable websites that revolve around a common theme.

Erin writes: “I am inundated with extremely interesting, odd, creepy, and innovative things during my day at work. So when my responsibilities for the day have slowed and playing with the label maker turns into a depressing film noir scene, I explore the deep and hidden layers of the Internet. What once only consisted of screeching phone dial sounds and weird Nickelodeon chat-rooms has turned into pure ecstasy for mind nomads everywhere.”

If you’re going to feel guilty while surfing the web at work, you might as well feel guilty while surfing something great and possibly character-shaping.  Just try not to tell your boss, no matter how much The Thunderdome (three stacks of bacon, sausage, elk meat, onions, and cheese between tortillas topped with sour cream, two fried eggs, and scallions) disgusts or excites you.

In other news, Mermaid had an unfortunate encounter with a man wearing a unitard.  The fiasco made her reconsider how easily she trusts strangers.  She writes, “Now, anyone who knows me will most likely attest to the fact that I have the tendency to trust people too easily (there are eccentric people out there; it doesn’t mean they are bad people, I reason…) or ignore warning signals when in an interview situation that seems skewed. And why? Am I in it for the thrill? Do I get a kick out of meeting weirdos?”

We know you don’t need any more reminding, but you can have fun in a down economy!  Lauren has some great tips about finding free events and outings when you’re on a tight budget.  She’s got a one-stop shop for all the necessary resources.  So, stop procrastinating and do something fun this weekend with your best friend or significant other.  We’re not letting you make any more excuses.
