.!.

On Friday, we celebrated Too Shy to Stop’s first birthday! I wrote an article to summarize the whirlwind year, and I cannot believe how much TStS has grown. Can you believe that we started with a blog post about Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee and Vietnamese food?

“I didn’t want to start a blog until I could find a good name for it. One evening, I was flipping through poetry anthologies on my bookshelf and found “In the Waiting Room“, a poem by Elizabeth Bishop. I fell in love with the phrase “too shy to stop” because of its alliterative qualities and also because I wasn’t exactly sure what it meant.”

Otherwise, this week included a lot of articles about travel. Niko wrote a piece about studying abroad, which is perfect for any students thinking about going abroad for the summer.  He writes: “So, you have finally chosen your college. The campus is beautiful, and the people are great. The weather is nice, and your classes don’t put you to sleep. Why would you ever leave?

Over 55 percent of college students say that they are fairly certain they will study abroad during their time at college. No matter how much you love your college, studying abroad offers experiences that students will love and cherish the rest of their lives.”

If you want to study abroad, but you have a fear of flying, Lauren has advice for you! She wrote an article about how to conquer aerophobia. This phobia is actually extremely common, but she proves that no one has any reason to be afraid of flying; it’s an extremely safe form of travel!

Wherever you decide to travel, we wish you the best.
