Before the Group of 20 (G-20) Summit, the last time I saw a bunch of cops together in Pittsburgh, PA was when the Steelers won the Super Bowl, but I’m pretty sure they were all drunk. Then, everyone was jolly. This week, a more solemn mood has fallen onto the city.
The Summit, which is an opportunity for world leaders to discuss issues like the International Monetary Fund, is taking place from September 24-25th. The protesters are largely advocating for anarchy and against capitalism.
John Oliver, a correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, as well as the media, protesters, anarchists, and local yinzers were in all pockets of the city tonight just trying to catch a piece of the action. I caught some of the action myself.
